Current UFC heavyweight champ Jon Jones was expected to defend his heavyweight belt for the first time against former heavyweight champ Stipe Miocic. There were talks that this huge fight could be on the cards in July for International Fight Week.
Jones Likely To Retire After Stipe Fight
UFC President Dana White said recently that it is unlikely that the Jones vs. Miocic fight will take place during International Fight Week and would get pushed back to the fall. White did not confirm but said it is likely that Jones vs. Miocic will take place at Madison Square Garden (MSG) in New York.
Jones also went on Twitter to let fans know that he plans to walk away into retirement after his fight with Stipe Miocic. Jones who is considered by most MMA fans to be the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) made it clear before he won the heavyweight championship that he wanted to beat Stipe Miocic who many consider the greatest heavyweight champion of all time before he retires.
Jones has accomplished everything that he wanted to in MMA and made it clear that no others names in the heavyweight division excite him which is another reason why he is ready to retire!
