Amaya Inc. subsidiary Rational Group has confirmed that it has appointed Zeno Ossko as Managing Director of its online sports betting division, BetStars from mid- September 2016.
The appointment follows Ossko’s sudden resignation as Chief Executive Officer of Frankfurt Xetra-listed European sports betting operator mybet SE late last month with a mybet notice explaining that he had relinquished his role in order to pursue other personal and professional challenges. Ossko’s position was taken over in the interim by Markus Peuler, mybet Chief Financial Officer.
According to Rational Group management, Ossko will join its division on 12 September 2016 and take on comprehensive responsibilities and strategic initiatives of BetStars, as the betting operator enhances its expansion in Europe.
Rational Group Chief Executive Officer, Rafi Ashkenazi, confirmed the appointment by saying that Ossko is the right person to lead BetStars into the future. He added that his experience leading a portfolio of online and retail gaming products and the development and roll-out of an omni-channel sports betting product will help position BetStars for continued product improvement and growth. Ashkenazi went on to say that he is a strong addition to their experienced executive management team.
Ossko revealed that BetStars has a bright future within the PokerStars family and he is eagerly looking forward to leveraging PokerStars’ existing base of more than 103 million registered customers as well as making BetStars a new customer acquisition channel for the company.
It has also been confirmed that Ossko will be relocating to Rational Group’s Isle of Man headquarters.
