SportPesa, a leading sports betting operator is thrilled to announce that it has extended its Principal Partnership with British professional football club Everton that will see it become an Official Partner of the Club’s charitable arm.
In terms of the partnership, SportPesa will provide funding for Everton in the Community’s long-standing flagship mental health program ‘Imagine Your Goals’. Since April of last year, ‘Imagine Your Goals’ has been funded internally using limited charity revenue following external NHS budget cuts.
Five football therapy sessions each week has seen ‘Imagine Your Goals’ being at the center of grappling with mental health issues on Merseyside for over 10 years, supporting 200 individuals each week, giving them a chance to talk about their problems and seeking help and support in a familiar environment.
Richard Kenyon, the Chief Executive Officer of Everton in the Community, commented that this partnership with SportPesa means that they can continue with their great work and continue changing people’s lives, but it also means they can plan for the future with a sustainable program moving forward.
In terms of the partnership, SportPesa will also become a ‘Founding Partner’ of Everton in the Community’s mental-health focused campaign, ‘The People’s Place’ that will enable the charity to build and develop a purpose-built mental health facility near Goodison Park that will support anyone in need.
SportPesa have also created ‘Goals That Give’ that sees the operator donate £1,000 for every Everton goal scored at Goodison Park for the entire duration of the partnership, backdated to the beginning of the 2018-19 season.
