Leading internet betting site 188BET has announced that it has agreed to renew its main sponsorship of English Super League rugby league club Wigan Warriors. The new one-year deal will run for the duration of the 2018 season.
The Wigan Warriors are a rugby team that plays in England’s top-flight league. Founded in 1872, the team finished last year as the league’s champions.
The deal between the parties will see the 188BET logo continuing to be placed on the front of the Wigan Warrior rugby team’s playing shirts.
The online betting operator previously worked with the Wigan Warriors rugby team in 2010 and has been serving as the team’s main sponsor since the 2016 season.
Kris Radlinski, the Executive Director of Wigan Warriors, commented on the renewed sponsorship by saying that they are absolutely thrilled that 188BET will remain with them next season. He went on to say that 188BET have built up a great rapport with Wigan fans with a number of initiatives that have proved really popular. He added that they are a forward-thinking group of people who are full of ideas and it has been a pleasure to work with the team there over the last two years.
Radlinski also said that the sponsorship landscape is a competitive market place and over the last 18 months they have adopted a slightly different model whereby they have gone out and listened to their partners about their commercial objectives and then been creative in how they can help each other achieve their goals. He added that many Wigan fans have been encouraging them to re-sign 188BET and that shows their popularity.
