Esports Entertainment Group, a popular esports betting operator is pleased to announce that it has entered into a new licensing and sponsorship agreement with Allied Esport’s new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) tournament.
The first edition of the Vie.gg CS: GO Legend Series is scheduled to commence in August 2020, with fans being given the opportunity to place bets on the competition via Vie.gg. Competing teams will be offered a total of €50,000 (£44,818/$56,687) in prize money.
The tournament is Allied Esports’ sixth edition of the CS:GO Legend Series, although it is the first to feature a licensing partner and title sponsor. In the past, Allied Esports ran events based around League of Legends, Overwatch, Call of Duty Blackout, Fifa and Valorant.
Grant Johnson, Esports Entertainment’s Chief Executive Officer, commented that they are excited to partner with an industry leader, Allied Esports, as the title sponsor of their newest esports tournament.
Johnson went on to say that title sponsorship places Vie.gg brand front and center for teams, fans and influencers alike, further accelerating user adoption of the Vie.gg platform.
Frank Ng, Chief Executive Officer at Allied Esports said that the Legend Series has been one of their most successful original tournament brands and they are thrilled to work with Esports Entertainment Group and the Vie.gg platform to add a wagering component that will introduce Allied Esports to new consumers and elevate the brand even further.
The deal between the parties follows Esports Entertainment’s recent revelation that it intends closing its acquisition of online betting and gaming operator Argyll Entertainment by the end of this month, after finalizing a definitive agreement for the acquisition.
