Z Capital Partners is pleased to announce the acquisition, by affiliates of Z Capital, of Sports Information Group, a multi-media information company focused on providing premium data driven content to the sports industry through its flagship Daily Racing Form platform and other brands.
Although the terms of the transaction have not yet been disclosed, it has been confirmed that the deal was carried out by affiliates of Z Capital.
Founded in 1894, the Daily Racing Form has been the dominant daily publication the horse racing, publishing up to 2,000 unique pages of statistical and editorial copies per day in 20 daily editions, 364 days a year. The Daily Racing Form website, DRF.com, also provides horse racing news, race results, handicapping tools and sales and auction coverage and is the most heavily-trafficked horse racing destination.
James Zenni, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Z Capital Group, commented on the new acquisition by saying that Daily Racing Form has been a proven leader in horse racing for more than 120 years, transforming from a daily print newspaper to a multi-channel media company and comprehensive online betting platform. Zenni went on to say that they are excited to support Daily Racing Form’s continued digital growth and expansion of its online betting platform as they add DRF to their investment portfolio.
