Betfred Sports has extended into the Arizona sports betting market as the state reaches record figures in its growing market.
At the start of the year, Betfred made a soft launch into Arizona and last week announced that the launch had been fully and successfully completed.
According to the Chief Operating Officer of Betfred Sports, Bryan Bennet: “I could not be more excited to expand our Betfred Sports betting apps into the Arizona market.”
Arizona has seen an incredible growth in its sports betting numbers. The leading gambling authority in the state, the Arizona Department of Gaming, announced a new record when $499.2 million was bet in December 2021.
This was an increase from November’s sum of $466.7 million and October’s $461.1 million.
In a statement last week, the director of the Arizona Department of Gaming, Ted Vogt said that with a new record set for total wagers and payouts in December, he was excited to see the continued strong start to the state’s event wagering and fantasy sports market.
The leading operator in Arizona, out of the 11 operators, is by far DraftKings, which controls just under 30% of the mobile market. Close on their heels is FanDuel Sportsbook with 26% and BetMGM Sportsbook.
Arizonans place their bets almost exclusively via mobile sportsbooks, with 99% of the amount bet ($494.5 million) made through mobile devices.
