Data supplier Genius Sports has been granted exclusive rights to capture and distribute official betting data for Colombia’s football league, DIMAYOR, building on the current partnership between Genius and the league.
The deal will include Colombia’s first and second flights of domestic football, as well as Colombia’s domestic knockout cup competition and the annual Superliga event, which all carry the name of title sponsor BetPlay.
Genius Sports’ network of over 150 sportsbook operators will supply the data for all of these competitions.
Genius will also supply DIMAYOR with its bet monitoring system, enabling the competition to be forewarned of any potentially suspicious betting activity.
DIMAYOR President Fernando Jaramillo commented that the partnership between Genius and Colombian Professional Soccer is very important and a reflection of the growing global interest in their product.
He added that it is very rewarding that a multinational company with recognition in the fields of official data for betting and more is interested in their competitions and invites them to seek methods so that they continue to grow.
Jaramillo also said that the clubs and DIMAYOR hope to repay Genius’ trust and that this alliance will be renewed and expanded to the extent that they are all pleased with what they can obtain from each other.
Mark Locke, Chief Executive Officer of Genius Sports, said the deal reinforces the supplier’s commitment to Colombia.
He added that Colombia has been pivotal to the global success of Genius Sports since they first opened their LATAM headquarters in Medellin in 2016.
Locke also said that expanding their partnership with DIMAYOR, is another major milestone that will help drive the league’s expansion and deliver even more premium content to their sportsbook partners around the world.
