Microgaming, an award-winning online gaming software supplier, is pleased to announce that it has signed a licensing deal with ITV Studios Global Entertainment in terms of which it will develop an exclusive online slot game based on the iconic disco group, Village People.
The slot game, which is scheduled to be released in 2019, will feature the Village People’s most unforgettable hits which include dancefloor classics such as Macho Man, Y.M.C.A. and Go West which led to a disco revolution around the world and launched the band as the ‘Kings of Disco’.
The Village People slot will see fans of the group take a nostalgic trip in online form that will feature all the dazzling characters, including the Construction Worker, Biker, Cowboy, Indian, Navy Officer and Cop who will take players back to the 70s disco scene as they spin to win lucrative rewards.
Steve Green, a Spokesperson for ITV Studios Global Entertainment, commented that a brand as iconic as Village People is sure to lend a great deal of fun and nostalgia to the themed online slot game, and who better to bring that to life than the company that developed the first true online casino.
Chief Operating Officer at Microgaming, Andrew Clucas, added that Village People is an iconic brand that has created an impact on pop culture with songs that have remained popular with mainstream audiences since the 70s and 80s. He also said that Microgaming is proud to announce the development of a new game which will feature the band’s greatest hits and members for the first time in online slot form, adding a new dimension to their extensive portfolio of branded content.
