Leading online gambling operator Bwin, a part of global sports betting and gaming group, Entain has signed extended deals with German Bundesliga football clubs Borussia Dortmund, Union Berlin and FC Cologne, as well as 2. Bundesliga teams FC St. Pauli and Dynamo Dresden.
Each of the agreements will run for three seasons, from 2021-22 until the end of the 2023-24 campaign with bwin continuing to serve as the exclusive sports betting provider for each of the teams.
The club agreements will include match-day tips, offers and betting odds integration on club platforms
The deals with the three top-tier Bundesliga clubs were brokered by the Sportive agency on behalf of Bwin.
Stephan Heilmann, Bwin’s Managing Director for Digital in Europe, commented on the deals by saying that it is a great honor for them to be able to continue to be a long-term partner of these five clubs; with their sponsorships, they underline the importance of fans and the passion for football.
Carsten Cramer, the Managing Director of Borussia Dortmund, said that they would like to thank Bwin for the trust placed in them.
Cramer went on to say that they still believe that the two brands are an excellent match.
Bwin is also the ‘Official Sports Betting Partner’ of the German Football Association (DFB) and holds sponsorship rights to the DFB Cup and German national teams until December 2022. As part of that deal, Bwin also sponsors the Women’s Bundesliga and is the main partner of the men’s third division 3. Liga until summer 2022.
