Pinnacle Entertainment, a leading casino operator, has become the latest operator to launch Sports Betting in Mississippi, and is offering a full-service, dedicated sports venue at Ameristar Casino Hotel in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
The service, entitled the End Zone sportsbook, opened on Friday, 31st August 2018 ahead of the start of the new college American football season at the weekend and the beginning of NFL action on Thursday, 6th September 2018.
The launch marks the first time that Pinnacle has launched a sports betting offering outside of Nevada, where it takes bets at its Cactus Petes property.
The End Zone features four service windows through which staff can take wagers from customers, as well as a dedicated viewing space with large-screen TVs.
Anthony Sanfilippo, Chief Executive Officer at Pinnacle Entertainment, commented on the launch by saying that the guests of Pinnacle Entertainment in the Southeastern United States are among the most passionate sports fans in the country. He also said that they are excited to now have the ability to offer sports wagering to their guests at Ameristar Vicksburg, and to enhance the excitement of viewing live sports events by combining it with a gaming entertainment experience.
Sanfilippo went on to say that they will continue to work to extend this important strategy to other properties throughout the Pinnacle Entertainment portfolio as allowed by the other states in which they operate.
Pinnacle Entertainment joins a number of other operators, including Chuchill Downs, Golden Nugget and Penn National Gaming, in rolling out sports betting in Mississippi.
