Relax Gaming has brought its flagship Money Train series back from retirement, giving the fifth instalment new characters, progressive bonus mechanics and a top prize of 100,000x the bet.
The Last Stand Wasn’t Quite the Last
Money Train 4 was billed as the final stop for Relax Gaming’s popular franchise, but apparently the train had another journey left in it. Money Train 5 officially launched on September 24, returning the series to online casinos three years after the previous instalment.
The new slot keeps the series’ familiar high-volatility formula while shifting the action into a post-apocalyptic wasteland. It uses a 5×4 grid with 40 paylines, with the bonus round once again doing much of the heavy lifting. This time, though, progression through the feature changes what can happen on the reels.
Players can also choose between Standard and Ultra modes. Standard tops out at 50,000x the stake, while Ultra doubles the maximum win to 100,000x and uses what Relax Gaming describes as a more extreme mathematical profile. The characters and core mechanics remain the same in both versions.

The advertised RTP is 96.10%, although industry listings indicate that lower-RTP configurations can be offered by operators. That makes checking the version available at a particular casino worthwhile rather than assuming every Money Train 5 game runs at the headline rate.
Tickets Give the Bonus Somewhere to Go
Three or more Bonus symbols trigger the main feature, where Bonus symbols carry multiplier values and three respins are initially awarded. Landing another qualifying symbol resets the spin counter.
The big change is the journey through stations. Tickets move the train forward, with new mechanics unlocked at certain milestones. Station 5 introduces the possibility of persistent symbols, Station 10 expands the grid with another row, and Station 15 brings the Bomber and Pyromancer into play. Reach Station 20 and the Permanent Payer becomes available.
Relax Gaming game designer Oscar Persson said the system was created to let bonuses continue evolving mechanically instead of relying solely on increasingly large symbol values. For players familiar with earlier Money Train games, that means longer features can change shape as they develop rather than simply becoming a race for bigger multipliers.
New Faces Join the Usual Trouble-Makers
Ticket Master, Bomber and Pyromancer join returning characters including Collector, Payer, Sniper, Arms Dealer and Necromancer. Ticket Master can help advance the train, while Bomber multiplies visible values. Pyromancer creates a Hot Zone capable of making qualifying symbols persistent while doubling their values.
The base game gets more attention too. Nuclear Wild can activate during regular spins, dropping bombs onto reels that can turn complete reels wild when involved in winning combinations. Relax Gaming says the feature was intended to give the base game more memorable moments without taking attention away from the bonus round.
Money Train 5 also offers Enhanced Spins, Bonus Reels and several feature-buy options where regulations allow them. For the average player, the bigger story is the choice between Standard and Ultra: this is still an unapologetically volatile Money Train game, but anyone chasing its new 100,000x ceiling should expect the mathematics to be correspondingly less forgiving.
