Following the November figures, New Jersey’s sports betting handle is close to the $1 billion mark. November figures are up, and bringing the Garden State’s sports betting industry closer to this milestone.
The NJDGE (New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement) showed November’s handle up 26.9% on October’s handle. In November, customer wagers totaled $330.7 million, while October figures showed $260.7 million. Since June 14th, the NJDGE reports sports betting totals at $928.1 million. December’s results should take New Jersey to the $1 billion handle figure.
The September handle was smaller than Novembers, totaling only $183.9 million. However, the gross sports betting revenue in September totaled $23.9 million, compared to November’s $21.2 million because of favorable results.
New Jersey’s total gaming revenue in November showed a 24.7% increase from the previous year. November 2017’s gaming revenue reached $206.4 million compared to November 2018 with $257.4 million. Sports betting only accounts for a small portion of the total betting revenue in New Jersey.
Important Players in the NJ Sports Betting Industry
DraftKings is clearly ahead of the pack in November’s sports betting figures. In November, the sports betting company added retail operations with its partner, Resorts Casino. BetStars is also based out of Resorts Casino, however, approximately 95% of the casino’s handle comes from DraftKings.
FanDuel, partners with Meadowlands, brought in $7 million in November, doubling their October take of $3.5 million. William Hill, partnered with Ocean Resort, saw revenue tripling between October and November.
