Boyd Gaming and Sonesta announced a deal on November 2 that will give travelers another way to book rooms at 19 US casino hotels. The companies also plan to connect their loyalty programs, but they have yet to say when members can use rewards across both networks.
The Booking Deal Goes Beyond Las Vegas
Sonesta will list the hotels on its booking platform under the Boyd Collection. The group covers more than 9,700 rooms and about 600,000 square feet of meeting and event space, giving Sonesta customers options for both individual stays and group bookings.
The list includes The Orleans and the Fremont Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, as well as Blue Chip in Indiana, IP Casino Resort Spa in Mississippi and Valley Forge Casino Resort in Pennsylvania. Boyd will continue taking reservations through its existing channels.
Booking Through Sonesta and Using Points Are Separate Steps
The companies named Sonesta Travel Pass and Boyd Rewards as part of a later phase. They did not announce a start date or explain which stays would earn points, whether members could redeem points across both programs or how existing status would be treated.
That distinction matters for guests comparing the same room on both sites. A listing on Sonesta does not by itself confirm that a stay qualifies for either program’s benefits. Boyd’s own offers can also have separate terms. At The Orleans, for example, one current direct booking offer excludes room taxes and hotel service fees from the advertised nightly rate.
Boyd Gets Another Way to Reach Hotel Guests
For Boyd Gaming, the deal puts its rooms and event space in front of people who already search for hotels through Sonesta. The companies will also explore future hotel projects, including conversions of existing properties and new construction. They did not name a specific property for either option.
